In February, we traveled out west to visit one of our daughters in Nevada. We saw beautiful deserts with sunset skies in violet purples, tangerine oranges, buttery and vibrant yellows, and deep rose reds. Many of the cactus plants looked as if they were singing praise to their maker. I painted a watercolor picture, but it did not turn out at all, so here is a photo I did not take that shows better what I had tried to capture in color.

Beautiful photo and I bet your watercolor painting is better than what you think. Will you try and paint the saguaros again or continue working on your current painting? I am inspired by your haiku watercolors…going to give it a whirl while on vacation!

Debbie, have fun with watercolors! The saguaros were not in a book with the step by step directions, and I do better with the actual workbooks – but you have so much artistic talent that I know you will shine without the training wheels of a paint-by-step book!
