December Shadorma

The Shadorma form is six lines, containing a syllable line count in this order: 3/5/3/3/7/5. To welcome December, I celebrate all those who are special in my life today – family, readers (that’s you), writing circles, book club, and friends who fill my life with warmth.

leaning in

pouring tea with friends

embracing

fireside warmth

this is how to live a life~

I got dressed for this!

  1. Thanks for reminding me about the shadorma and for sharing your lovely example. I’m going to play with this form in my notebook soon. Also, I had to laugh at your ending line as my post today involves my dedication to staying in my PJs ALL DAY! lol

  2. Your opening line “leaning in” sets the mood perfectly. Your last line made me smile. It’s a great twist. I am inspired to try my hand at a shadorma.

  3. Kim, I love your celebration of those friends in real life and writing circles that enrich your life. Your opening line of “leaning in” in order to capture every word, phrase ad expression really sets the mood here. I celebrate you as well.
