Margaret Simon

whose baby ducks on jump

and Denise Krebs, whose Mojave

Fran Haley, my birdwatching sister

one state north in a same-named town,

wordancerblog’s March food fest

Sally Donnelly’s

  1. Ahh, I love this poem and that I’ve inspired you to attend a poetry event. I did not compete this year at the slam, but now that I’m soon to retire, I think I will try to write more spoken word poetry. I’ve never heard of the Septuple Nonet, but I love writing Nonets and Etherees. Thanks for sharing your beautiful poetry with us today. I feel inspired!

  2. I love this acknowledgment poem to all the Slicers waking up this morning to begin the March daily routine. We have a duck, Kim! She is laying daily now. I’ll post about her soon.

  3. Kim, Those Schnoodles are the best dogs, aren’t they. I’m glad we can journey toward one another in these virtual spaces and find inspiration and care in our online communities. Now, pet a pup or three.

  4. Kim, this is a great poem and I love that you mentioned so many of our wonderful fellow slicers. It is so true…this group motivates and inspires. I love it! Had to laugh at the picture you posted. I recently discovered Mel Robbins and blew through this book, which our daughter gave my hubby for his birthday. He’s still not read it, but I loved “Let Them” and have recommended it to many. Enjoy!

  5. Wow, Kim, I loved scrolling through your carefully-counted septuple nonet. You are a creative through and through. You may be the first one in history to make a brain wave poem like this. I loved reading all the inspiration you are getting from others. I love how your fellow writers can ” inspire / me to get out and live / to try new things” Me too!

  6. Whoa – the brainwaves really do work with the fast scroll, and furthermore: Awaking to a septuple nonet?? Girl! Your brain is not only fine, it’s on FIRE! Unreal!! I have to tell you two things. 1) I do Wordle, Connections, and the crossword (but not the bee) every single day, too, for the very same reason: “to keep synapses sharp.” A most proactive plan. And 2) Finding the list of names and mine included as your birdwatching sister in our same-named north and south Z towns… well, it brought tears of gratitude. You, meadow nymph, green glass beads in your hand, are ever the enchanting guide to rally us all as we jaunt down the writerly path together. Goblins are no match for us! Thank you for the magic you share, and the magic you spark.

  7. Ahhh….thanks for the shoutout. Thanks for letting me be a fly on your 6am routine. Puzzles and writing with all your writerly friends. But then you really stepped it up by writing it so it actually looks like brain waves!!! You are SO clever. SO creative. Such a great writer and writing friend!!
