  1. Kim, wait, is that happening indoors? Amazing bloom. I love the speeding up of the poem as you witness: “popped open and bloomed!” Nice! How soon does it close? Does it just stay open overnight and close by day? Does it open and close multiple times? I’m not familiar with night blooming flowers.

    1. Denise, it’s the most fascinating plant I’ve ever had. I got it at a local farmer’s market about two or three years ago, and they told me it would bloom in a couple of years, and only at night. They were right. I have seen the blooms about 3 times, but never witnessed one happening until I was sitting on the porch talking on the phone late into the night with my brother and noticed something changing. I went over to see the miracle!
