Mo Daley of Illinois is our host today at http://www.ethicalela.com for the 14th day of VerseLove. She inspires us to write haiku poems of three lines with a 17-syllable count about tax day, tomorrow. You can read her full prompt here. My One Little Word comes to mind today regarding taxes: Onward! They’re unavoidable. We pay them, we cringe, we brush our hands, and we move on to the next thing. Enough said.
The Tax Man Cometh
Caesar’s rendering
my travel fund cindering
all fun hindering

Kim,
I like your allusion to Caesar.
Your diction and rhyme are impressive!

Short and definitely to the point. I loved these lines – so true. I’m impressed anyone can write a poem about taxes!

Love the rhyme! Taxes are a real pain. I guess we’re all kind of in it together, so there’s that. 😦 On a bright note, poetry can even make tax season a tiny bit more tolerable.

With taxes due tomorrow, I finished mine on Saturday. However, I’m getting a refund so I am hoping to book a flight or two!! As others said, GREAT word choice!!

Sally, the world is at your feet! And I’ll bet I know right where you will be flying……I have a certain family member or two in mind. Safe travels!

Kim, I agree with others. Your thoughts on taxes ended up in a rare haiku with Caesar included. Please check out my slice because there is an invitation for slicers.
