Today’s poem is a tricube – a poem of three stanzas, each having three lines composed of three syllables. This one has a rhyme scheme of aaabbbccc. This one is inspired by an argument I witnessed, right when it hit the fan. The whole thing reminded me of a Jenga game where you watch quietly, knowing the pieces are going to fall and the whole thing will tip a little and crash…..
Tip of the Iceberg
what to do
they fooled you
such words flew
saw the lies
sheep disguise
passion dies
two will go
they both know
all-time low

I saw a similar interaction between a teen and a parent in my local grocery yesterday where the words were tossed slowly but with clear damage to the relationship and peace of their world. Your comparison to the Jenga game is perfect because both sides know how it will end!!!!! I’ve been there – many times with family members.
