floor-dropped chicken chunks
    that survived the dogs
cantaloupe rinds
potato shavings
fleshy peach skins
squeezed lemon remnants
sunflower stems
scissored chives
withered blueberries

nothing wasted

all ripe with promise and sustaining purpose
